Thursday 6th June from 8pm in Woodhouse Gardens.
On Thursday 6th June, the 80 anniversary of the D-Day landings, towns all over the country will be lighting a beacon. The light from the beacon will represent the ‘light of peace’ that emerged from the darkness of war.
In Partnership with the Royal British Legion we are holding a beacon lighting ceremony in Woodhouse Gardens.
Join us from 8pm for refreshments and the opportunity to explore the Blandford Commemoration Group’s D-Day exhibition before the ceremony starts at 8.45pm culminating with the lighting of the beacon at 9.15pm.
All welcome
