Parking Review

Although the Town Council does not have any car parks, it has requested that the Dorset Council (previously DCC and NDDC) carry out a parking review. The Town Council is running the administration and initial consultation for this parking review.

Update May 2018

The below two documents showing the findings of the Parking Review have been sent to Dorset County Council and North Dorset District Council for review.

Project Plan

Due to the Local Government Reorganisation and Covid-19 the project did not develop as much as was hoped between 2018 and 2020.

Strategic projects for Dorset Council are being linked together with the Parking Review, to hopefully speed up the process.

Once a public local consultation can be held and we receive a steer from residents (it requires more than 60% to be in favour) the results can be taken to Dorset Council Cabinet.

Update November 2020

Dorset Council Councillor Quayle reported at the Town Council meeting on Monday 23rd November 2020 that following the discussion at the T&GP meeting and the Town Centre Enhancement working group recommendations him and Cllr Lacey-Clarke would like to move the Parking Review forward. Cllr Quayle sees that the recommendations from both groups can go alongside each other. He will bring the recommendations to a Town Council meeting for discussion and voting, for it to then go to public consultation. This is planned for Spring 2022.
